About Me
I've been lucky enough spend 20 years working for some of the top companies in the life sciences industry, including Qiagen, Abcam, Affymetrix and LGC. I've learned a huge amount from the many great people I've encountered along the way.
After gaining my PhD from Imperial College and undertaking two post docs in molecular biology, I started my first commercial role in tech support in 2001. I then developed my business skills with roles in sales and business development, before progressing to senior management positions in product marketing and business unit management.
During my career, as both a consultant and full time employee, I estimate that I've worked with commercial and technical teams at >200 life science companies - I’ve worked for distributors, manufacturers and OEM resellers in public companies, private companies and startups. This has allowed me to develop my skillset within a broad range of systems, technologies and teams.
My technical expertise spans genomics, protein biology, drug development and agricultural biotechnology. I pride myself on keeping abreast of new scientific developments and leveraging my strong technical background to deliver high quality commercial projects.
I have established and led global teams, and enjoy mentoring and motivating individuals to ensure they achieve their full potential.
I started in sales, and have used various sales methodologies such as SPIN, DISC, and Challenger Sales. I am Hubspot certified for marketing, and specialise in inbound marketing strategies..

Responsible for the business development, marketing and product management of Abcam products including secondary antibodies, proteins, kits and reagents. Responsible for leading the team (UK and USA), including revenue and expense budgets, financial reporting, business modelling, and performance management.
